Oven Repair in Denver

Heating faults, temperature drift, convection and door work on Viking wall ovens and range ovens.

What people say on the phone

  • Set a temperature and the cavity never gets near it
  • Oven quits partway through a bake and goes cold
  • Roasts scorch at the back and stay pale at the front
  • Door will not pull shut, or the inner glass has cracked

What it usually turns out to be

Three faults cover most of these calls

Never reaches temperature

On a gas oven, a weak igniter that glows but never draws enough current to open the safety valve is the classic. On electric and dual-fuel, it is an element that has gone open circuit or a probe reading high so the control shuts off early. All three are measured — current draw, continuity, probe resistance against temperature — rather than guessed at.

Quits partway through a bake

A cavity that goes cold mid-bake usually points at a thermal switch or cooling fan dropping out as the trim warms up, or a relay on the control losing contact when hot. It is diagnosed by running a full cycle with a meter on it, which is slower than swapping a board and considerably cheaper than swapping the wrong one.

Scorching at the back, pale at the front

That is airflow: a convection blower that has slowed or stopped, or a door that no longer seals so cool air is drawn across the front. Hinges sag on heavy doors and pull the gasket away from the frame at the top corners. A hinge set and a gasket often cure a cavity that has been called “unusable” for a year.

Worth checking before you book

  • Hang an oven thermometer on the middle rack and compare it with the setpoint after twenty minutes.
  • Does the igniter glow bright orange, and does the gas actually catch within a minute?
  • Close the door on a strip of paper at each corner — does it grip evenly all round?
  • Any fault code, and does it show up cold or only once the cavity is hot?

What it costs

What these repairs run, band by band

Flat $89 service call covering the visit and full diagnosis, credited against the repair once you approve it.

Every line below is a band rather than a single figure, because the part your model plate calls for and how much has to come apart to reach it decide where inside it your job lands. You are told which band it is and given one firm number from inside that band before a panel comes off; the work starts when you have agreed to that number, and not before. The $89 you have already paid comes off it rather than being added to it.

Igniter or burner assembly
$170–$470
Oven thermostat or heating element
$210–$420
Refrigeration fan or defrost system
$270–$650
Dishwasher pump or control
$210–$370
Control board or touch panel
$420–$610
Compressor or sealed-system repair
$1,370–$3,240

Parts and labour both, quoted to your model plate rather than to an average of other people’s machines. For scale, set the dearest line above against $6,560–$16,180 — a comparable Viking replacement, before installation. Even the top of that last band lands below the cheapest comparable swap, which is why a fault gets metered before anybody starts talking about a new appliance.

In their words

Oven calls, in the owners’ words

  • The oven would preheat, hold about ten minutes, then quit stone cold. A cooling-fan switch was dropping out as the trim warmed up. He fitted a new one and watched two full cycles through.

  • The inner door glass cracked clean across after a long roast. He matched the panel against the model plate, stripped the door down on a blanket over my island, and rebuilt the whole thing. Not a mark left on anything.

  • Ours is boxed into 1950s cabinetry with a finger of clearance, and the door had stopped meeting the latch. A bent hinge arm. He trued the frame, fitted new arms, and it seats flush.
